The M.I.L.E.S. Medical Equipment Loan Cupboard stocks medical and ambulatory items such as bathchairs, transfer bathchairs, security frames, raised toilet seats, walkers, canes and wheelchairs. This equipment may be loaned out for up to a three month loan period while individuals are recuperating from surgery or illness. We will also loan to individuals leaving hospitals and have not determined if long term use of such equipment is necessary. This will give the individual evaluation time as well as time to purchase from a reputable dealer. User fees are pro-rated based on individual equipment value and pre-selected 1 month, 2 month or 3 month loan period.

Conditions of Loan

• LOAN PERIOD IS THREE MONTHS OR LESS, and equipment must be returned to M.I.L.E.S. FOR SENIORS INC. on or before the date indicated, in good CLEAN condition.
  
• Transportation of the equipment is the responsibility of the client.
  
• Equipment must remain in its original form as loaned to the client, that is it may not be adapted for other purposes.
  
• Equipment on loan from the M.I.L.E.S. FOR SENIORS INC. must remain within the M.I.L.E.S. radius (ic communities of Cypress River, Holland, Treherne and Rathwell and the RM’s of Victoria and South Norfolk).
  
• A pro-rated user fee (based on individual equipment value & pre-selected 1 month, 2 month or 3 month loan period) per item will be charged. The user fee must be paid when the item or items are picked up. Positively no refund for equipment returned earlier than pre-selected due date.
  
• Equipment must not be used in a hospital, nursing home or other licensed health facility.
  
• The client acknowledges that such equipment is loaned as it is, and the client, by accepting the loan of such equipment, waives any right to claim against the M.I.L.E.S. FOR SENIORS INC. concerning the condition, quality, durability, fitness or operation of such equipment.

Social Loan
We do find occasions whereby a family may benefit from the use of a transport wheelchair or regular wheelchair to assist a loved one to a medical appointment or social engagement. We have acknowledged this and have chairs available for 1 week loan periods.
